Mike was a capable left hand batsman and recipient of our Junior Club Champion in 1966/67 and Club Sportsman of the Year in 1976/77. Michael played in our original senior team going on to play 19 seasons for the club from – 1966/67 to 1984/85.

Mike coached junior teams for 9 seasons and was the first youngster to join the club’s coaching ranks. His example led to others following in his footsteps. Mike held a number of positions on our committee including Treasurer for 3 seasons 1968/69 to 1970/71, Club Secretary for 1 season in 1975/76, Vice President for 1 season in 1981/82 and delegate to the SSJCA in 1975/76. Mike also served 1 season as the SSJCA Treasurer in 1975/76.

He was rewarded with Life Membership of the Club in 1984 and has been honoured with his name on the Junior Division Wicket Keeping Performance Award “The Mike Fordyce Trophy” in 1997.
