Matthew Carroll was awarded Life Membership of the Engadine Dragons Cricket Club at the conclusion of the 2017/18 season after playing 25 consecutive season for the Club. Matthew joined the Dragons in the 1993/94 season playing in our 10E team. In the following season 1994/95 he was awarded the “Barry McManus Memorial Shield”.
Since then, Matthew has gone on to become the Club’s most successful spin bowler taking well over 500 wickets with the best figures of 9 for 16 in 2005/06, the Club’s second best ever bowling figures. He has been awarded the “Senior Division Bowling Performance Trophy” on three occasions – 2001/02, 2005/06 & 2015/16.
In 2024/25 Matthew took over the role of Senior Secretary as well as our SSCA delegate.
His father Tony and uncle Robert both played for the Club with Tony representing the SSJCA in their 1960/61 Moore Shield team. Robert was awarded the “Junior Club Champion” in 1964/65.
