John was awarded Life Membership of our Club in 2019. He played 22 seasons for our club – (1974/75 to 1985/86), (2008/09 to 2012/13), (2014/15 to 2018/19). As a player he was awarded “Top Boy’s Club Bowler” in 1976/77, “Top Under Sixteen Batsman” in 1982/83, “Junior Club Champion” in 1982/83 and “Outstanding Junior in Men’s Cricket” in 1984/85. John represented the SSJCA for 4 seasons – 1976/77, 1978/79, 1980/81 & 1982/83 and went on to play grade cricket with Sutherland.

He coached junior teams for 8 seasons and was our Equipment Officer for 11 seasons from 2009/10 to 2019/20. John was awarded “Club Member of the Year” in 2013/14. 2013/14.

John’s sons both played cricket for our Club. Matthew played for 8 seasons from 2006/07 to 2013/14, and Cameron played 13 seasons from 2006/07 to 2018/19. Cameron also represented the SSJCA in 2011/12 and was awarded the Bradman Scholarship in 2012/13.
