Alf Lemmon (1985)

Alf served the Club as the Senior Secretary followed by a stint as Vice President then President before returning to his original role. Alf played 16 seasons for the Club (1974/75 to 1988/89) and captained lower grade senior teams. He gave youngsters new to men’s cricket an opportunity to develop their potential and self-discipline, an essential part of the game. Three of these teams won premierships and several youngsters went on to play in our A1 teams.

Alf was a club stalwart being a regular club delegate to the Sutherland Shire Cricket Association for over a decade. He also coached junior teams for 2 seasons.

One of Alf’s greatest contributions to the Club was as the leader of the “Magnificent Seven”, a group of blokes, mainly club members, who for almost three years regularly ran meat tray raffles at the Engadine Hotel and in that time raised over $7,000 for the club.
